Hiya. Y'alright?

Thanks very much for visiting my website. This is where I share my thoughts, observations, outfits and recommendations (not to mention unintentional rhymes like that one just then).

My name's Rich, by the way. Rich Sutherland. Not Dicky, despite the web address and social media accounts. I just thought "Dapper Dicky" had a nice alliterative ring to it. You can call me Dicky if you like, but if you shout it in the street, I'll probably carry on walking without realising you're addressing me. Maybe just stick to Rich. Or perhaps The Stupendous Sutherland. No... Rich will do fine.

Anyway, as you've probably guessed from that photo of me wearing a baker boy cap, denim shirt and questionable tie, I love sartorial fashion. However, rather than crisp-as-a-Granny-Smith tailoring from Savile Row, or satin suits that are so shiny you could use them as a mirror for combing your hair, I prefer the comfy side of dappernalia (that's not a word, but it should be). Soft fabrics such as cotton shirts and corduroy trousers are very much my vibe, and you really can't beat a cosy cardigan combined with a charity shop tie. Do I look like I belong in the boardroom of a Fortune 500 company? I doubt it very much. Am I reminiscent of a quirky uncle who collects vinyl records and laughs at his own jokes? Here's hoping.

So, what exactly is Dapper Dicky, from a visitor's perspective? Well, as a heavy guy who had zero confidence until he was in his twenties, and no real sense of self until much later, I'd like to think I can offer a little inspiration and encouragement so that you can discover your own style. For instance, do you have it in your head that a suit won't... well... suit you? Just go for it, my friend. Are you a woman who's been told that ties are only for men? You've been grossly misinformed; ignore the naysayers and embrace the neckwear. Or perhaps you're someone who simply enjoys watching a large Yorkshireman get ready in the morning? In which case, fair play; this is a judgement-free zone. Whoever you are, whatever your background, you couldn't be more welcome here.

If you run a fashion business, I do get involved in collaborations from time to time. For example, I'm a brand ambassador for OTAA, a bonza Australian company that sells incredible ties and luxury shirts. That link I just shared will automatically give you 10% off your order, or you can enter "DAPPERDICKY10" at the checkout. But yeah, you get the idea; I only collaborate with brands that I know offer high-quality products and have a strong ethos. If you believe this applies to your own, get in touch and let's have a chinwag.

Anyway, enough business talk. In the end, I'm just a bespectacled behemoth who loves sharing his passion for fashion. If this sounds like your kind of thing, I reckon we'll get along famously.

Right, I need to shoot off now. Whatever you're up to, have a lovely day.
